Scott Recycling's Web Presence¶
The website is built using Odoo's Website Builder and includes:

Website Builder Basics¶
The Website Builder lets you edit pages visually:
- Open the Website app from the Odoo menu
- Navigate to the page you want to edit
- Click Edit in the top bar
- Drag and drop building blocks to add content
- Click Save when done
Be Careful with Live Edits
Changes to the website are live immediately after saving. If you're making significant changes, coordinate with your team first.
Lesson 2: Online Store Basics (10 min)¶
Learning Objectives¶
- Understand how products appear in the online store
- Know the connection between inventory and the store
- Process incoming quote requests
How the Store Works¶
The online store displays products from the Odoo inventory system:
- Products are created in the Sales or Inventory modules
- Products marked as Published appear on the website store
- Customers can browse, add to cart, and request quotes
- Orders come into the Sales module for processing

Check Before Publishing
Before publishing a product, make sure it has good photos, accurate descriptions, and correct pricing. First impressions matter.
Lesson 3: SEO Location Pages & FAQ (5 min)¶

SEO Location Pages¶
Scott Recycling has location-specific landing pages optimized for search engines:
- Each page targets a geographic area (e.g., "Electronics Recycling in Knoxville")
- Pages are auto-generated from templates with location-specific content
- They help customers find Scott Recycling when searching for recycling services in their area
These pages are managed by marketing and IT. If you notice inaccurate information on a location page, report it.
FAQ System¶
The FAQ system provides self-service answers to common customer questions:
- FAQs are organized by category
- Customers can search for answers before contacting support
- CSRs can reference FAQ links when helping customers
